Our Story

Nova YJP ( Young Jewish Professionals ) was established in 2024, to serve the Young Jewish community of Northern Virginia.

Nova YJP is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of affiliation or prior level of knowledge. Its sole purpose is to create a warm, welcoming environment to explore and experience Judaism's warm and relevant spiritual inspirations in a non-judgmental and inviting atmosphere.

Since its inception, Nova YJP strives to create young warm community with religious services, and social events, as well as an array of programming including: Holiday Parties, Shabbat Dinners, Torah Classes, Coffee With The Rabbi/Rebetzin Etc.

Nova YJP is a local, independent and financially self-supporting entity. Every dollar that we receive comes from the generosity of people like you. We are a 501(c)(3) organization and your donations are fully tax deductible.

After Backpacking Southeast Asia and south America Rabbi Tzemach & Hindy Lerman moved to Fairfax and founded Nova YJP in 2024. 

Seeing a need for the young Jews in their 20's and 30's they began hosting shabbat's and throwing holiday parties and thus a beautiful community started forming and Nova YJP was born.
